Should you tip the wedding djs if you have them. Do you know what I found? Just like in other situations like a restaurant, I think it depends on whether or not you believe they did a great job. I can tell you from experience I’ve had many people give me anywhere from no tip to a very generous tip with much thanks. Believe me, it is awesome to know that someone appreciates you and realizes that you did a great job. In many cases, the DJ has already cut their rate for you, obtained specially requested music. Maybe even edited the music for inappropriate lyrics or made any songs shorter if you didn’t want your special dances to be too long, we’ve help you select songs because you just ouldn’t decide or had no clue what to choose for the cake cutting, etc. We’ve helped deal with religious, racial, or cultural differences through music choices. We’ve dealt with your drunk Uncle with 4 hours trying to get us to play Metallica even though you’ve specifically told us not to play any metal of a kind. We’ve dealt with your drunk cousin Rose who keeps putting her drink on our expensive equipment. I’d say if your DJ does any of that for you, they deserve a tip. On the other hand, if your DJ was lowsy, no way should you tip them. I think a tip is a thank you for a job well done.

Disc Jockey
May 17, 2012MY boyfriend knows everything about music(who sang what and when) he loves music so much he sings it anywhere he hears it, no matter where we are- the mall, a restaraunt my moms house.. I think he has the perfect personality to be a disc jockey but he’s not sure how to go about it. Can anyone help? We live in ohio, and its kind of a second career thing. He has to work full time and is limited in his traveling. Essentially — There are quite a few schools that offer this. specs howard. . I went to columbia school of broadcasting. I’d suggest he’d go to a four yr university and get his journalism degree, with a minor in radio-tv. That way he has a better chance of getting somewhere
Dj Intro
May 16, 2012Hello, I am a beginning dj and I have a problem. All dj’s I know have some kind of dj voice drop or a nice intro with their name. Can someone make one or explain how to do it? If you can make one please do, I don’t have the voice to do it. And if you would like to make one: You are listening to the sounds of. . DJ Blackout. Thanx. After speaking to others on the web, I found the answer. How hilariously cheesy. Get a microphone, attach it to your computer, record it with some software. Job done.
Numark Dj
May 15, 2012I want to start mixing and scratching from home. I have been doing some research online about different types of turntables, mixers and techniques. I came across the all in one DJ In a Box kit, and thought it was a good deal for someone who just wants to pick it up as a hobby. I know that direct drive vs belt drive is better if you want to be a scratch DJ, but is this kit worth buying, or should I spend my money on a single turntable and mixer. I was so pleased to find this — If you want to practice, you need to players and a mixer. I say get the DJ in a Box. Get decent at DJing. Get some money (gigs). Get better equipment when you can afford it. Good luck.

Dj Controller
May 13, 2012I’d like to buy equipment so I can do computer DJ-ing, but I noticed most of computer controller scratching wheels sizes are small. Is there any computer DJ controller product under $500 with actual size turntable wheel and the latency of actual ‘old-school’ vinyl turntable ? Thanks. Essentially — This one is simple and cheap to do, if you already have a pair of vinyl decks you can then purchase some special time coded vinyls that interact with programs such as VDJ and Traktor or even PC-DJ. Time Coded Vinyls or Cds can be purchased from many leading record and equipment stores. To set them up I believe you may need to have a midi connection to your decks and the use of the Time Coded Vinyls / Cds for the software to run with the decks. A lot of DJs now use Time Coded Vinyls or CDs if they enjoy using Mp3s with there equipment. It is I believe the cheapest option compared to buying a midi controller. I hope this helps.
Dj Mebbe
May 12, 2012So my friend and I have a webshow, and I do all the video editing and I need any help with the music for our youtube intro. The music right now is Dance Hall Track by DJ Mebbe, and I mean it’s good but yeahh. It’s an old song and I’m tired of ittt. I need somethingg fassst (if you’ve heard Dance Hall Track, then you know my meaning of fast) I am going to mainly use the chorus, so it needs to be catchy ) I’m not breaking the copyright code, I’ve bought the song on iTunes and I’m using it for personal purposes, not commercial reasonss. Essentially — The MGMT-Kids song
Live Dj
May 11, 2012If a dj set is recorded live from a venue and the artist allows of such recording to be freely available to the public domain, ie downloaded freely via the internet. Is that such music/set allowed legally to be sold. Do you know what I found? You don’t automatically get rights to sell something just because it is the public domain – resale rights are a totally different issue, so the answer is that it would NOT be legal to sell the recording. Presumably you are referring to the DJ as the artist? The real artists are those that actually created the original recordings, and it is fairly unlikely that they have agreed to such a recording being made and distributed at all (unless all the music was created specifically for that DJ to use). So the music is not at all in the public domain even though the DJ may have apparently glibly agreed to the recording of his own ‘performance’. Whichever way you look at it, it would definitely be a bad thing to be caught ‘selling’ such a recording.
